KIWIFRUIT
Trevelyan’s currently packs Zespri kiwifruit for over 280 growers whose orchards span more than 1,100ha from Katikati through to Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty, as well as Hawkes Bay and as far south as Taumarunui in the King Country.
We pack and store both conventionally-grown and organic Zespri kiwifruit. Class one varieties include Zespri Green, Zespri Sungold, and Zespri Sweet Green.
In total, Trevelyan’s packs approximately 15% organic kiwifruit and 10.35% of the total New Zealand industry market share of kiwifruit supplied to Zespri each season.
Class A kiwifruit is packed under the NutriKiwi™ brand and exported to Australia by The Nutritious Kiwifruit Company Ltd, a joint venture between Trevelyan’s, Eastpak, OPAC and DMS.
Our local market is serviced by The Golden Kiwifruit Company, a co-ordinated supply company managed by our Domestic Produce Manager.
MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Trevelyan’s Management Services Ltd (TMSL) provides a comprehensive range of on-orchard services and advice tailored to individual grower requirements, from large corporates to small, privately-owned orchards and encompasses all varieties of kiwifruit and avocados.
This management model delivers clear benefits for growers. They’re able to retain ownership of their orchard and enjoy extra income from increased productivity. TMSL contracts run for one season at a time and are re-signed annually. Growers are not locked into long-term contracts which gives them flexibility and confidence to make the best decisions for their orchard.
In the Te Puke area, our orchard management provider is Edwards Heeney Consulting Ltd (EHC). In 2016, we saw the introduction of the Tauranga North branch with three Trevelyan’s orchard managers.

BAYFARMS
At Trevelyan’s, all our domestic kiwifruit are sold under the ‘BayFarms’ brand. The brand was established in 1995 and is well known for its quality and consistency. We supply all the major retailers across the country as well as the wholesale market. In 2016, we introduced online sales direct to the homes and businesses of NZ consumers.
NO 1 ROAD POLLEN
No.1 Road Pollen is a partnership between Trevelyan’s Pack and Cool Ltd and Mat Johnston Contracting Ltd to secure a sustainable supply of high-quality local pollen for supplementary pollination of kiwifruit. We harvest male flowers and have the capacity to mill them for supply of up to 200kg of pollen back to Trevelyan’s growers each season.
